Monetize Under Review - Part 3 - Quick Tips

Monetize Under Review - Quick Tips

Monetize Under Review Solution and Reason

Are your monetize videos stuck in "Under Review"?

This "how to" will explain how to monetize and why your video is "Under Review"

For the purposes of this video we will stick to the two most common monetization "Under Review" reasons.

There are many videos out there that claim to have tricks. This is not one of those videos. This instruction takes you through the proper process that most people do not seem to have the time or patience to follow.

Youtube/Google has been put under stronger legal pressure to not auto trust user content and to default on the side of caution.

Number one is music/audio. To determine if your video is under review for music/audio, first upload your video without any audio. If you can monetize it immediately after the processing is complete, you are ready to upload your video with the audio.

If your muted video remains under review, then you likely have a copyright image or somewhere in your video there is a watermarked image. If that happens, you should review and alter your video to remove those images/clips.

Now, the biggest reason your video is under review is because of the audio. Here is how to get your video monetized properly.
First, be sure you have permission to use the audio and to credit the audio in your video. Even if you are using samples or free sound effects. Your audio should be self-composed or royalty free creative commons license.
Next, upload your video to Youtube and immediately set the Privacy Setting to "Unlisted".
Then you need to give credit for the audio in your video description using the following format:
Name of the track: Terminology

Artist of the track: Flembaz

Direct URL of the track:
http://www.flembaz.com/content/02%20-%20Terminology.mp3
&
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp2FkibWJGQ

Link to the license terms:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp2FkibWJGQ
&
http://www.flembaz.com/about/ section marked "Can I do something with your songs?"

Terms of the license:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode

Once your video finishes processing, enable the monetize option.
Your video manager will display the monetize icon for "Under Review".
Once this happens, you need to stop editing or modifying your video. After 6-24 hours, Youtube will send you the following Email requesting more information. Most people do not notice this email. It either gets deleted or goes to the spam filter. You will want to check your spam, trash, and filters if you do not see this email in 48 hours after enabling the "monetize" option.
Now that you have the email, you will need to click the "Submit information about this video" link and write the details in the proper format with the appropriate information. It is important you follow the proper format and try not to make your request rude. Keep in mind, this is a request for legal information. Keep it short and to the point.
This is the proper format you should use.
Here is the example I used for my VirtualDub Deshaker video recently.

Please enable video monetize for the following:
My Channel Name: ThreeDigitIQ
My Original Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CkgKEl6960
Name of the track: Terminology
Artist of the track: Flembaz
Direct URL of the track: http://www.flembaz.com/content/02%20-%20Terminology.mp3
Link to the license terms: http://www.flembaz.com/about/ section marked "Can I do something with your songs?"
Terms of the license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode

If you have documentation from the artist, modify the statement and upload the file as an attachment.

Once you submit the information for review, it is time to wait again. This time it can take up to 48 hours.
If it has been more than 48 hours, you will need to contact partner support: partner-support@youtube.com

The proper format is:

Please enable video monetize for the following:
My Channel Name: ThreeDigitIQ
My Original Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CkgKEl6960
Name of the track: Terminology
Artist of the track: Flembaz
Direct URL of the track: http://www.flembaz.com/content/02%20-%20Terminology.mp3
Link to the license terms: http://www.flembaz.com/about/ section marked "Can I do something with your songs?"
Terms of the license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode

If you did everything properly, you should receive a notice from Youtube and your video will be monetized.
This entire process can take a week to complete, so keep that in mind before publishing your videos.
